Andhra Style Uppu Pindi is a dish very similar to Upma or Uppumavu and is a famous south Indian breakfast dish.

Ingredients of Andhra Style Uppu Pindi

1.5 Cup Rice Rava
2 Tbsp Yellow Moong Dal
1 Pinch Asafoetida (Hing)
1 Tsp Ghee
0.5 Tsp Mustard Seeds (Rai)
0.5 Tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
1 Tsp Salt
6 Piece Cashew
1 Piece Green Chilli
1 Sprigs Curry Leaves
2 Nos Dry Kashmiri Red Chilli (Whole)
4 Cup Water

How to make Andhra Style Uppu Pindi

Step 1: Heat oil, ghee in a kadai, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let it splutter;
Step 2: Add in hing, dry red chillies, cashew, green chilli, curry leaves and fry for few minutes;
Step 3: Add moong dal and saute it for few minutes;
Step 4: Add water, salt and leave it to boil on a low heat;
Step 5: Add the rice rava when it starts to boil, start whisking so that there are no lumps formed;
Step 6: Cover and cook over a low heat;
Step 7: Keep mixing at regular intervals so that it does not get stuck at the bottom;
Step 8: Ready to serve.
