In it the whole black lentils and kidney beans are soaked in water overnight and then boiled and simmered in spices and cream. It has very rich and creamy texture because of lot of butter and cream.

Ingredients of Dal Makhani

0.5 Cup Urad Dal Whole
4 Tbsp Rajma
5 Cup Water
4 Tbsp Butter
0.5 Tbsp Ginger Paste
0.5 Tbsp Garlic Paste
0.5 Tbsp Dry Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
0.5 Tsp Salt
2 Nos Tomato
1 Tbsp Cooking Oil
0.5 Tsp Garlic
1 Tbsp Butter
1 Pinch Dry Fenugreek Leaves (Kasuri Methi)
4 Tbsp Fresh Cream

How to make Dal Makhani

Step 1: Wash and soak the dal & rajma together for at least 3 hours;
Step 2: Add 3 cups water and boil in a pressure cooker till dal splits and becomes thick;
Step 3: Separately roughly cut the tomatoes and puree them;
Step 4: In a pan melt butter and saute ginger paste, garlic paste for 2 minutes;
Step 5: Now add the red chili powder, salt, stir and immediately add the tomato puree;
Step 6: Cook the tomato puree till they turn very thick & specs of butter ooze out;
Step 7: Add the dal to the tomato puree and cook for few minutes;
Step 8: Add some water and cook the dal for 15-20 minutes;
Step 9: In a separate pan heat oil and add chopped garlic;
Step 10: Saute garlic till they turn brown and add it straight to the boiling dal;
Step 11: Add butter along with dried methi leave and cream;
Step 12: Serve hot.
