Sprouts are a rich source of vitamins, proteins and minerals but are not a favourite among the fussy eaters. Sprouts Tikki is an interesting way to make your kids eat sprouts which are healthy and necessary for their growth. This is an easy-to-make and yummy snack recipe which is cooked with moong bean sprouts, gram flour or besan, mint leaves, green chili, coriander leaves and a melange of spices. Enjoy these tikkis with tomato ketchup or green chutney and you can also place it in between two multi-grain bread slices and pack for lunchbox; this will make your kids’ lunchbox more healthy and protein-rich. You can serve it hot on occasions like pot luck, game night and kitty party. Try it and enjoy with your loved ones!

Ingredients of Sprouts Tikki

1/4 cup boiled sprouted moong
3/4 tablespoon mint leaves
salt As required
1/4 teaspoon green chilli
1/4 tablespoon mint leaves
water As required
3/4 tablespoon coriander leaves
1/4 tablespoon gram flour (besan)
1/2 dash asafoetida
1/4 tablespoon coriander leaves
1/4 cup refined oil

How to make Sprouts Tikki

Step 1: Wash the dal and tie it in a cloth and hang it for 10-12 hours so that the moong get sprouted;

Step 2: Now blend the sprouted moong along with little water in a mixer to a smooth paste;

Step 3: Transfer it to a bowl, add the coriander, mint leaves, besan, salt, asafoetida and green chilli paste(grind it in a grinder) and mix well;

Step 4: Divide the mixture into equal portions and roll out each portion into round flat thin tikkis;

Step 5: Roll each tikki in mint leaves and coriander, till they are covered from all the sides;

Step 6: Heat a non-stick tava (griddle), and cook each tikki, using 1/8 tsp oil, till they turn golden brown in colour from both the sides;

Step 7: Serve immediately.
